Twin Elements began with the idea of wind and water, probably inspired by Haruka and Michiru from Sailor Moon. Originally, I had toyed with the idea of three elements, wind, water, and fire, but I decided that I liked the pair better. Wind, soft and intangible, would represent imagination and creativity, and under it were placed the writing and review sites, appropriately named "Verbal Whirlwind" and "Aeolian Harp", respectively. Water, cold and flowing, would represent time and reality, and under it was placed the journal, then called "River Reflections". As you can tell, I was already skilled in being way too heavy-handed with symbolism. The layout shows two planets circling around one another. One is streaked with wind, the other is rippled with water. At this point, I had no idea what a collective was, and the domain was mostly a one-page gateway of links to my other sites. |
