Version three was one of the prettiest designs by far, an attempt to combine aesthetics as well as symbolism. The song "Sunrise Sunset" had already been featured as the title and theme of the journal, since it speaks of the passage of time. I returned to two of the stock photos I had used then, and overlaid one over the other to achieve the design. I've always loved the soft peach and lavender palette of sunsets, espcially combined with the yellow and light blue of sunrise. This was the first time I'd ever used the ubiquitous scrolling script, which was nice, but I've come to find it a bit too much trouble lately. I also realized that the content I had tried to include in version two, mostly random pages in the "Extras" section, was too hard to maintain, so I went back to being minimalist. I tend to alternate frequently between too much information and too little in almost all of my sites. |
